One of our clients have an exciting opportunity in the Bournemouth area covering a range of employment opportunities including flexible working and night shift roles.

- 2 x Part-time Support Workers – 15 hours per week

- Waking nights Support Workers – 27 hours over three nights

- Full-time Support Worker – 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis

Salary for all roles based on £16,000 – £18,000pa (pro rata)

Successful candidates must have relevant experience and will be vetted through the DBS and the clients safeguarding process.

Job Description

Job Title: Support Worker

Responsible to : Project Manager

Responsible for: Residents, sessional staff, volunteers and students as required

Work Location: Bournemouth

Basic Conditions: 37.5 hours a week on a flexible shift basis including waking nights

Main Purpose: To provide a safe and supportive environment for young people in housing need with medium to high level support needs.

Main Tasks:

• To be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all individuals whilst on duty

• Provide access to a range of specialist services from external agencies to meet identified support needs, in order to provide them with a ‘portable’ care package

• Document interaction with young people receiving a service, ensuring that professional, non-judgemental and adequate information is recorded during every shift. Action should be taken from file reviews to ensure files meet contractual audits.

• Engage with daily activities, in particular those which promote and develop learning, social skills, healthy lifestyles, arts and culture, aiming to broaden horizons and raise aspirations.

• Ensure that residents who are ‘NEET’ during any part of their stay are actively engaged in training, education, employment or voluntary work.

• To be familiar with the range of housing and support providers able to meet longer term housing and support needs

• Liaise with external agencies and assist in the planning of the resettlement for people who are moving on into housing options appropriate to their needs

• Safeguarding is everyone’s business, there is an expectation and a requirement that staff will pass onto the clients Designated Safeguarding Manager any child welfare concerns that may arise in the course of their duties

• Abide by policies, procedures and guidelines of the client, with particular regard to Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Confidentiality
